Can I change a QR code destination link after printing it?

Yes, absolutely. That is the core advantage of dynamic QR codes. Whether your QR code is printed on 10,000 product boxes, laminated restaurant menus, or storefront window decals, you simply update the destination URL in your Modifyle dashboard. The update propagates across edge servers immediately, directing all future scans to the new link without altering or reprinting the physical code.

Do Modifyle's free dynamic QR codes expire?

No, Modifyle's free dynamic QR codes do not have a scheduled expiration date or countdown trial by default. Unlike predatory tools that silently deactivate printed codes after a 14-day trial to force high-tier subscriptions, your 3 free dynamic QR codes remain live permanently as long as your account is in good standing and complies with our fair-use policy. However, because dynamic QR codes rely on server-side redirect routing, they depend on the Modifyle service remaining active; if you delete a code or close your account, the redirect will stop routing.

How many free dynamic QR codes can I create, and what are the paid tiers?

The Free plan allows you to create and maintain up to 3 active dynamic QR codes simultaneously at zero cost. If you need more active codes, the Pro plan includes 25 active dynamic QR codes ($7.99/mo or $4.92/mo billed annually), and the Business plan includes up to 500 active dynamic QR codes ($19/mo).

Are scans or redirects limited on the Free plan?

No. Modifyle provides unlimited scans across all Free, Pro, and Business tiers. We do not enforce monthly scan volume caps, scan throttling, or surprise overage charges. Whether your dynamic QR code receives 50 scans or 500,000 scans, your links remain active and uninterrupted.

How does scan analytics tracking work, and does it respect visitor privacy?

When a visitor scans your dynamic QR code, our edge redirect router logs anonymous aggregate telemetry: total scans, device category (iOS vs Android), country of origin, and timestamp. We never set persistent tracking cookies on scanner devices or collect personally identifiable information (PII), making our analytics privacy-first and GDPR-compliant. Free accounts retain 14 days of telemetry history, Pro retains 90 days, and Business retains 365 days.

Can I generate dynamic QR codes in bulk?

Yes. Modifyle supports high-speed client-side bulk static QR generation (via our QR Studio batch mode) for unlimited codes simultaneously. For dynamic QR codes, our Business plan ($19/mo) includes a Bulk CSV QR generator supporting up to 200 items per batch, with capacity for up to 500 active dynamic links. For smaller needs, Free includes 3 active codes and Pro includes 25 active codes.

What is the difference between a static and dynamic QR code?

A static QR code bakes your raw destination data directly into the visual pixel matrix. It works 100% offline and autonomously forever with zero server dependency, but its destination can never be edited after printing and no scan analytics can be recorded. A dynamic QR code encodes a short redirect link managed by an edge server, enabling you to change the destination URL post-print and track scan engagement. Use static QR codes for permanent links, Wi-Fi access, or personal contact cards, and dynamic QR codes for marketing campaigns, menus, packaging, and business flyers where link flexibility is essential.

What happens if I downgrade my subscription plan?

If you downgrade from a Pro or Business plan to Free, your active links do not suddenly break. Modifyle provides a 7-day grace period during which all existing links continue routing normally. After 7 days, your 3 most-clicked dynamic QR codes remain active on the Free tier, while excess codes are gracefully paused with a clear status notice rather than a broken 404 error.
