Understanding SSC Live Photo Capture
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) transitioned to live photo capture to eliminate impersonation and outdated passport photos.
During online application filling, candidates must allow camera permissions in their web browser or use the official MySSC mobile application. Position your face squarely within the frame against a light background with proper front lighting.
Do NOT attempt to find a 'file upload button' for candidate photo on the SSC portal—the system captures the live webcam feed directly.
Pre-scanned passport photo files ARE NOT ACCEPTED for SSC candidate photos. You must use live capture. Only signatures are uploaded as files.
Scanned Signature Upload Rules (10–20 KB, 140×60 px)
Unlike the candidate photo, the signature MUST be scanned and uploaded as a file.
File Format: JPG / JPEG
File Size: 10 KB to 20 KB
Dimensions: Width 4.0 cm × Height 2.0 cm (approx 140×60 pixels to 200×100 pixels)
Sign with black or blue ink on clean white paper in running handwriting. Signatures in CAPITAL LETTERS will be rejected by SSC.
